‘Junior election at the IDSB: pupils practise democracy for the European elections’
On 6 June 2024, the Junior Election took place at the iDSB on the occasion of the European elections. The 9th to 11th grades had the opportunity to participate in the official junior election and the 5th to 8th grades in a non-official school election. Beforehand, there was a school assembly to emphasise the importance of the EU and the importance of democratic voting. Supported by Mrs Grossmann and Mrs Friedrich, the electoral committee of the 11th grade: Ingmar Wetzel, Kasper Holte-Nielsen, Selma Bohnen, Caroline Clauß, Maria Idanez Odriozola, Simone Wallis, Jakob Brötz and Philipp Harder supervised the election and counted the votes. The junior election is an action-orientated election simulation that encourages voter participation and an understanding of democracy.
Here are the results of the election and some pictures.
