Visit of Prime Minister Oliver Paasch at the International German School Brussels
Brussels, March 15, 2024 – Today, we had the extraordinary honor of welcoming the Prime Minister of the German-speaking Community, Oliver Paasch, to our campus.
During his visit, the Prime Minister explored our school and engaged in an inspiring panel discussion with students from grades 9 to 12 in the auditorium. Moderated by two students from the 9th grade, Prime Minister Paasch faced questions from the audience, including inquiries about his preference between NATO and the EU. In the midst of the discussion, Prime Minister Paasch emphasized the significance of Belgian federalism, stating, “Belgium would not exist today without federalism.”
Subsequently, accompanied by the school leadership and board members, they exchanged views on education, future perspectives, and the importance of civic engagement throughout the morning.
The day was characterized by encounters and thought-provoking discussions, reflecting the diversity of our school community. Our students had the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas with the Prime Minister.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Oliver Paasch for his visit and appreciate the valuable time he spent with us.
