Literature enthusiasm at the iDSB: Dinçer Güçyeter reads in the amphitheatre

A special literary event took place at the international German School Brussels (iDSB) on 19 January. The successful author Dinçer Güçyeter, winner of the 2023 Leipzig Book Fair Prize and the 2022 Peter Huchel Prize, read from his debut novel “Our German Fairytale” and selected poems from his poetry collection “My Prince, I am the Ghetto” in the packed amphitheatre.

With his autobiographically influenced stories, anecdotes and poems, he transported the audience into the extraordinary emotional worlds, narrative perspectives and fairy tales of his family of storytellers who immigrated to Germany. The author also took plenty of time to answer the pupils’ personal questions and patiently signed books.
