Our rhythmization concept for the junior high school (5/6)
5th year
To ease the transition from elementary school to high school for our youngest students and to loosen up the unaccustomed long school days, we have rhythmized the daily schedule and placed a break in the middle of the day:
Every day in the 5th hour, lessons take place across grades and with varied offerings.
– On Tuesdays and Thursdays, each child has a sporting, artistic or media educational activity (e.g. badminton, handicrafts, drama club or PC driver’s license).
– On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the learning office takes place: Each student works individually and independently during this time, alone or in a group as desired. Under pedagogical guidance, the children use the learning office to work on homework, weekly plans or similar in the classroom or in the learning center. The afternoon is thus relieved of homework.
6th year
Twice a week during the 6th hour (Tuesdays and Thursdays), students work individually and independently, alone or in a small group as needed. Here, two classes are well supervised by three teachers, so that there is also time for assistance and additional explanations of the subject matter. In these learning office hours, homework and weekly plans are completed in the classroom or in the learning center, posters are made or vocabulary is learned, so that the afternoon is relieved of homework.
